My Life With the Thrill Kill Kult (TKK) came to Portland to have a good time and they brought their pioneering industrial metal sound to the Crystal Ballroom for that very purpose.
Having just released their Sinister Whisperz IV: The Bedroom Tapes album, their set list was fierce, and relentless. One couldn’t help but move along with each rhythmic track as TKK took us on a journey through some of their classics as well as more recent creations. Opening with “Burning Dirt”, TKK got the crowd moving early. With a song catalog that spans nearly four decades, the set list was extremely diverse, jumping all over their expansive catalog but completely avoiding any of the newest tracks from the recent release.
Seeing TKK live was like stepping in a time machine, touching on pivotal cinematic moments and iconic club favorites. By the end of the evening, they had played over twenty songs, leaving the Portland crowd satiated, but exhausted.
